I've considered it, just to be a show off. Kinda like Eidorian's post above, I'm known as the guy with gadgets and knowledge by friends/family. Whipping out a 40" screen from my pocket wouldn't hurt. ;)
Make sure to post back when you figure out a way to do that lol

Anyone who leaps to a conclusion over this is foolish and shooting themselves in the foot. Print media is dead in its current form so you'll never see events banning people just because they have an online presence. Crucifying gizmodo for being the morons they are while claiming they're hurting other journalists is disingenuous. Do you really think conferences don't want any press to go to their events? The big conferences are under threat (E3 is a good example). I doubt they'd do anything horribly stupid over this. Ban gizmodo? Yeah, can see that. Require that you can only get in if you have a newspaper or magazine? Doubt it.

One thing I think people need to keep in mind about the MB Air... it's NOT a replacement laptop or a replacement workstation!
Stop looking for the big power and flexibility! It's a product designed for the road warrior. Someone that is always on the road and needs a light but functional laptop will find the Air useful and not a bad value compared to others on the market in the category.
People should look at the MB Air as a technology demonstration of whats possible and what will come in the future to more laptops... I'm guessing the next MB's and MB Pros are going to be thinner and have solid state drives as an option.
All I'm saying is keep it in perspective... the MB Air is NOT FOR EVERYONE!
MBA is ok for whoever wants one. It's nice, light etc. etc.
Nevertheless it does not help those of us who were hoping for all that other stuff that is overdue.

I just tried to imagine an Apple event night without the omnipresence of Chundles and my brain broke.
Never going to happen. Just wait till 2am when my posts become even more incoherent than usual.
EDIT - Don't everybody else do what conditionals just tried to do. A few people did it last Tuesday night and we broke the internet.

No the add is right. To many people drool over apple so they go with ATT. If you picked AT&T for the iPhone and knew the service was spotty in your area you loose all right to complain about it.
i get what your sayin, but nah, they can still complain all they want... i dont think it says in the contract be expected to have 30% dropped calls.
people complain not only to relieve themselves, but to eventually get whats right. (complaining on macrumors isnt exactly the best way of going about it, ill give you that)

He is a male, just like me, I can't believe you don't understand that...
He thinks he is female which is a whole other thing
Oh boy- the ignorance displayed in this forum sometimes can be staggering.
I bolded a key word in your quote. IMO
I'm not looking to stir anything up, so stop insinuating.
Just because I have a different opinion from you doesn't justify your annoying statement, "your act is wearing thin"
Really guy? I could care less about what you think so stop -__-
You certainly do come off as less than compassionate. That's for sure.

"There is nothing wrong with a doctor talking to anyone about guns, as they can be a risk to health."
True, if at the bar in the country club among friends, or at a session of shooting skeet. I've taught a couple of doctors about guns, and freely admit to knowing them. Doctors can be okay people, although some are socially unacceptable IMO.
But otherwise it's exactly like asking someone how much money they have in the bank. You don't ask a farmer how many acres he owns--which is the same thing. Nor ask a rancher how many head of cattle he runs. Rude, discourteous and just plain ignorant.
Rude, discourteous and just plain ignorant is assaying pretty high-grade in today's society--but it's still stupidity at its finest.
A doctor has no way of knowing the circumstances of somebody's homelife--and since there are tens of millions of homes I submit that there is no "One size fits all" to allow some outsider's judgement. He is no expert on firearms use or safety, absent being a "gunny" himself.
It's nobody's business how much of what that I own or how much money I have. Ah, well, nothing's really new among idiots. Hank Williams sang about it over sixty years ago: "If you mind your own business, then you won't be minding mine; if you mind your own business you'll stay busy all the time."
That would be neat, rat- if any of the examples you gave were health hazards. They aren't. Guns can be. And your health is your doctor's business. My doctor asks me about all kinds of things I do and activities I engage in to give me advice regarding them. Health is your doctor's business.
Sorry, but that doesn't make sense to me Lee.
Fewer guns would mean fewer guns for everybody.
Come to Chicago and see just what "fewer guns" has done for us. We've had a gun ban in place for a very long time- not working out so well.

I'm not sure where you got those criteria... but those aren't the criteria for which story make the first page.
Readers aren't asked to blindly believe page 1 rumors... Whether Page 1 or Page 2, rumors are presented in their context.... with historical context of the sites involved. Engadget generally has pretty low standards regarding rumors - in that they will post whatever they want on their site if they find it remotely interesting -- that being said, I've not seen them post Apple Rumor items using their own sources with any degree of certainty before. As a result, they get this front page spot. If "joerumorblogIveneverheardof.com" posts a rumor from "reliable" sources, it won't even get a mention on Page 2.
arn
I just checked joerumorblogIveneverheardof.com and the site isn't even real! Jeez, how about some fact checking 'round here.:p
Anyway, I want this to be true sooo bad. This device could be so awesome.

Likely somebody that knew you had it and wanted it, hence the targeted break in. :(
And since it seems like a neighbor took it, it shows that they are an idiot.
Time to break out the video camera for evidence.
Edit: if a kid took it, sue the parents if they do not make good on damages and return the merchandise. Should only need that video tape for a small claims case.

Calling it Windows 7 sort of makes no sense, technically it's the 10th version of Windows, if you dont count server editions.
It's only the 7th if you start counting from Windows 98.
And
major kernel version
1,2: 1.0 and 2.0
3: 3.0, WfW3.11, NT 3.51
4: 95, 98, NT4
5: 2000, XP
6: Vista
7: Windows 7 (but really 6.1)
So the answer is, "marketing"
I see. It's a sequence of versions but they decided to start at a a certain level of windows development or possibly a grouping of versions by category. i always wondered about that.
OS X came naturally after OS 9. I wonder if the version after OS X.9 will be OS X.10 or OS XI? I guess OS X.10 would make sense if the OS doesn't change significantly as it did from 9 to X.
Microsoft needed the good luck after Vista. :p
LOL - maybe 8 is their lucky number...

Apple does censor things they do not want certain content on the appstore. Show a nip and you get axed I highly disagree with that enable a type of parental control don't chose for me
Want to see a nip? Just turn on iPhone Safari and you can jump on the internet and see the whole tit. Apple has a right to offer a store that is kid friendly, and in the end may make them more money than if they let hookers walk the aisles.
iTunes is a safe place. It's free of smut and malware. Everyone can go there and have a good time, like Disneyland.

I'm starting to doubt page 1 rumors just as much as I doubt Page 2 rumors. Unless you (MacRumors, not the 'source' website of the rumor,) have credible, reliable, direct sources, it belongs on Page 2. If you don't have direct sources, (as rumors on other websites would be,) it does not belong on page 1. By your own standards.

Are we talking about the FreeBSD license or the NetBSD license. The NetBSD license isn't free and that is what OSX is based off of and apple paid to use the license.
OSX is based off FreeBSD and mach. Apple may have taken some code from NetBSD over the years but FreeBSD is the predominate source for the BSD layer. It's pretty common knowledge, it even used to be mentioned on Apple's website, although I don't know if it still is.
The NetBSD licence is a BSD-style licence. That's a free licence. FreeBSD and NetBSD often use each other's code for various things. View the licences for yourself:
http://www.freebsd.org/copyright/freebsd-license.html
http://www.netbsd.org/Goals/redistribution.html
If Apple did use any NetBSD code, they may possibly have made a donation to the NetBSD foundation but they certainly didn't "pay" for a licence.

My OS X Public Beta folder still sits proudly on my desk at work. 10.0 was pretty lacking and ssssssssllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww. 10.1 was a huge improvement speed-wise.
10.3 was probably the first really usable version that I no longer needed to dual boot into OS 9. Oh, and I still have my Panther Dog Tags they gave out at the Apple Store to us idiots who stood inline for hours.
Happy Birthday old friend!

I tend to agree with you regarding a physician's readiness to provide gun safety lessons, but I think you're missing the bigger picture. Do you think that the government should be OUTLAWING physicians from asking their patients questions? It doesn't matter what the question is... is that the role of government? No, I've already said I think the bill is complete nonsense. I'm only addressing Dr. Choi's assertion (in the OP) that he has a duty to pry into non-medical aspects of the lives of his patients.

Do you mean you like the change, or the reverse of the change?
You only have to look at the second screen shot to see why the slider was potentially confusing
Image (http://images.macrumors.com/article/2011/04/29/162642-lion_subpane_slider_old_500.jpg)
When there are only two options, the inactive option looks a lot like a depressed button.
Apple's always fiddling with this. You have to wonder why they didn't just stick with the old tabbed interface, which is arguably the most instantly recognisable way of switching window views. I guess there's a bit more flexibility in buttons, in terms of their placement or maybe they're just trying to think different.
I mean I like the change away from the slider. The slider was confusing (I'm a techie, and I was confused at first when I saw videos and screenshots), and the squarer buttons look better than the old style in Snow Leopard, especially with the two shades of grey - they are much more modern and much subtler.
